[aahealth Glyconutrients - True And False

Wednesday, November 15th, 2006

Glyconutrients have become widely known today because of their
beneficial effects on our health. However, if you search the
Internet for some information on these essential saccharides,
you may find a lot of false or inaccurate statements about
them. Here are some questions and answers that will hopefully
dissipate any doubts about glyconutrients.

Q – Do glyconutrients heal?
A – No. Strictly talking, glyconutrients do not cure or heal
any of your wounds of diseases by themselves. They are
saccharides, not miracles. However, they can greatly help in
increasing the efficiency of your immune system, and in the
production of adult stem cells. You must not expect to drink a
glyconutrient-rich supplement at night and wake up cured the
next morning, so don’t believe anyone who claims that
Glyconutrients are “magical” or immediate healers. Rather allow
for 3-6 months, after adding glyconutrients to your diet, for
your body to build new healthier tissue.

Q – Do glyconutrients reduce aging?
A – Certainly, glyconutrients are very effective in eliminating
free radicals from your body, thus delaying the cellular aging
process. However, eliminating free radicals is just half the
work: you must also stop producing them in order for
glyconutrient’s anti aging effects to be fully effective. For
instance, if you are a heavy smoker glyconutrients’ ingestion
will be innocuous on you, because nicotine produces way more
free radicals than your nutritional supplement can help you
eliminate. So, as a rule of thumb, taking glyconutrients can
help fighting aging only if you eliminate other harmful habits.

Q – Have Glyconutrients any undesired side effects?
A – As they are natural elements, they have no harmful effects.

Q – Can I get all the glyconutrients I need just by changing my
diet?
A – Well, not in today’s world. Theoretically, it is possible
to carefully design a diet plan that provides you with all the
necessary glyconutrients in the right amounts, but this diet is
unpractical and almost impossible to follow by a person who
lives in today’s fast world. That’s why professionals prefer to
design and implement a more realistic and practical diet, and
complement it with glyconutritional food supplements.

Q – I am currently taking a certain medicine to fight a certain
disease I have. Will glyconutrients interact in some way with
this medication?
A – Glyconutrients are just saccharides (also called “sugars”),
therefore they are completely natural. For this reason, they
have no interactions with any known drug. However, you can
always ask your supplier about consuming glyconutrients. A
trained consultant will not only inform you about them, but
also will recommend the right amount for you.

Well, that’s all for now. I hope this five answers help you
recognize any false info you may found about glyconutrients.

[aahealth You Can’t Get Fit At Work, Can You?

Tuesday, November 14th, 2006

You better believe you can.

In fact, in today’s world of 60 plus hour work weeks, less time
off, more stress, increased workload (at the office and at
home)…you had better figure out how to do some kind of exercise
while at work to get yourself in shape.

There are so many little things that you can do while at work
to keep yourself fit…you just have to use your imagination.

You have some of that, don’t you?

Of course you do.

Unfortunately, most people just sloth away in front of their
computer all day, when they could be taking just a few minutes
to get themselves in better shape.

How do you do it?

I thought you’d never ask………..

Well, since most people work in a place with stairs…………..

You get what I’m sayin’ (lol),

Yep, you guessed it……take the stairs!

I know, I know, you can stop with the applause, that is truly
life changing, isn’t it.

Ok, maybe not.

But seriously, taking the stairs is an absolutely wonderful way
to help you out.

Don’t be lazy, don’t always take the elevator.

Wait a minute………..

I can hear the complaints already,

I work on the 53rd floor Chris, are you nuts???

Now, let’s use some common sense here………
Am I asking you to walk up all 53 flights of stairs?

Of course not!!!

Unless you want to show up to work drenched in sweat (lol).

Hey, it’s your call.

Ride up to the 49th floor, and then walk the other four.

Brilliant.

Then, to take a break during the workday, walk up/down a couple
of flights of stairs, maybe even give it a light jog for at
least one of those flights. Do this 2,3,4 times a day, and at
least you won’t be like your co-workers who plant their butt in
their computer chair for 8 plus hours a day.

How about another exercise to do at work?

Pushups.

HUH? You may be saying.

Well, all you need to do is to put both your hands on the edge
of your desk, (you can vary the hand position, as this will hit
different muscles) get in a pushup position (your body will be
diagonal – feet on the floor and hands on the desk), and crank
out some pushups. You don’t need to get on the floor, get
dirty, or make a big deal about it. Just get your butt up off
your chair, get into position on your desk, and start busting
out some pushups. This is great for a nice little pick me up –
especially when you’ve been staring at your computer screen for
a few hours. You can try to do 2-3 sets at once, or just spread
a few sets out during the day.

I would LOVE to tell you some more tips, but it’s getting late,
and I need to go. These two things are all you need to start.
Start them! Don’t wait until you get every single tip, trick,
and secret……….and THEN start to exercise. It’s too late. Start
now……see how it goes (don’t worry, it will be great). Use your
creative brain (I know you all have one!), to think of other
ideas…..I bet you can find a multitude of them, some that are
probably so easy.

Get excited and get started now!……..I’ll talk to you soon.

[aahealth Tips For Beautiful Hair

Tuesday, November 14th, 2006

Your hair speaks volumes about the person that you are. It’s
arguably one of the most important parts of personal
appearance, and in this article, we’ll relay some tips on how
to keep your hair looking healthy and vibrant.

- Few realize exactly how important a proper diet is to the
health of their hair. For one, it is important to ensure that
your body is getting all the iron that it needs. Iron is a
mineral that helps hair to grow, and you may experience hair
loss if you’re not getting enough Another important nutrient
when it comes to healthy hair is Vitamin C. Vitamin C is
important when it comes to helping the body to absorb the iron
that you consume, so these two compounds work in tandem to keep
your hair in good health.

- Another area of precaution that needs to be considered is
the amount of damage that you do to your hair through coloring
and dying it. Using hydrogen peroxide to ‘bleach’ the hair can
have drastic results when it comes to the health of the hair.
Hair that is too heavily stripped by peroxide may feel brittle
and may even break when mussed with. If you are planning on
dying your hair, be sure that you want to color your hair in
that way for a long period of time - repeated coloring is what
can cause the most damage.

- Dandruff can be a very embarrassing problem. In order to
keep your scalp as dandruff-free as possible, you’re going to
want to shampoo your hair daily, unless your scalp is extremely
dry. There are special medicated shampoos available which can
reduce the amount of dandruff that you experience.

- Split ends are another headache when it comes to hair care.
Surprisingly enough, one of the best solutions for solving a
problem with split ends is to cut the split part of the hair
off! To do it at home, you’re going to want to grab a small
amount of hair and slowly twist it. The split ends of the hair
should stick out, and you’ll be able to trim them to your
liking.

Now that you know a lot more about maintaining healthy and
beautiful hair, you’ll be able to impress others with your
lustrous locks.

[aahealth Fitness Matters

Tuesday, November 14th, 2006

It certainly pays to be fit. People who are fat or maybe just a
little on the flabby side are prone to be short of breath after
climbing a flight of stairs. They ache all over after spending
a day just window shopping at the mall or strolling in the
park. And usually, those are only the tip of the iceberg when
it comes to the problems that heavy-set people face.

Generally, a physically fit person enjoys a gets to be in good
physical condition because of regular physical activity, proper
nutrition and ample rest to allow the body to recover fully from
the rigors of everyday living.

Being fit not only makes us more physically capable of meeting
the challenges that come our way, it also helps us out mentally
and emotionally. For one thing, it helps us deal with stress
better which is quite a benefit if you really think about it.
Not only does stress ruin our well-being and sap the enjoyment
out of our days, it can kill us slowly by adversely affecting
essential body functions.

Among the staples of the most popular and effective programs
for physical fitness are regular exercise, physical therapy,
massage and even taking a hot bath or other activities that can
relax and sooth our nerves. Physical fitness means more than
just taking care of the physical parts of our being, you know.

However, with regard to our overall fitness, an effective
regimen should address our flexibility, cardiovascular
endurance, muscular strength and endurance, body composition,
agility, balance and speed.

There is no easy way to physical fitness. It always takes time
and hard work, as well as discipline and consistency. But being
physically fit is its own reward and more than well worth the
sacrifice. We hate to admit it but overweight people really do
envy those with impressive physiques.

Being fit and free from stress allows us to attain peace of
mind as well as the confidence and capability to face any
physical, emotional and mental challenges of everyday life.

Sometimes, the biggest challenge in getting fit is getting
started. So why don’t you seize on that momentum that you are
probably feeling now and start on a physical fitness program?
Try walking a few blocks and see the difference it can make.
After that, you may not want to stop trying to get physically
fit.

[aahealth Getting Into Shape The Right Way Today

Tuesday, November 14th, 2006

Most people simply lack the appropriate regime when it comes to
exercise and fitness. And the appropriate regime here means
something such people actually derive pleasure doing. The main
problem of exercise these days is one of everyone assuming that
will not carry out some routine because they loath what they see
what other people are doing.

But nothing can be father than the truth. But nevertheless, it
is about time to think outside the spectrum of exercise and
take a close look at all fitness oriented activities and find
one that can accommodate your peculiar situation. If you are
ready and very willing to get in shape and stay that way, then
I can tell you about one or two techniques on how to get in
shape. However, what I cannot give you is the tenacity, will
power, and mind-set to accomplish the task. That part is solely
up to you.

The process of how to get in shape that seem somehow elusive to
many people is on the contrary very easy. Regular exercise
spanning at least one hour five times every week, eating an
maintaining a healthy diet, and avoiding sugar and junk foods.
That simply is a quick overview of a “how to get in shape”
routine.

But you need to be told the kind of exercise you should do.
There is no rule that says it is mandatory to spend an hour on
the treadmill, recumbent bike, or a stairmaster. Everything
boils down to your preference. A fitness regime must be one
that fits your personality and must give you pleasure when you
do it, and there is something out there for everyone. My
situation is a good example.

I was not tutored on how to get in shape by anyone; rather I
took the initiative on my own. My interest in martial arts
spurred me to start doing simple cardio routines like jump
rope, jogging and jumping jacks, as well as weight lifting. I
carry out this workout plan and do it five times every week.
This goes a long way in keeping me in shape.

We all enjoy some little forms of adventure, and this can range
from riding bicycle, rock climbing, to hiking in the woods. They
are all great cardio exercise routines that prime the muscle, so
if you prefer any one of them, then you should adopt it. You
should take advantage of what the exercise has to offer to shed
off excess fat.

As you can see, you really don’t need an expert to tell you how
to get in shape because it is something you can do and enjoy on
your own. But you must remember the bit about eating sensibly.

[aahealth Arthritis FAQ: Your Options In Treating Arthritis

Tuesday, November 14th, 2006

* What causes arthritis?

Arthritis is caused by a variety of factors including joint
instability, age-related changes, altered biochemistry,
hormonal factors, environmental factors, and psychological
factors. Stress can also cause arthritis since stress disrupts
the body’s hormonal balance.

Stress-induced cortisone deficiency can be a factor in some
forms of arthritis. When body systems release adrenalin and
cortisone, it weakens the immune system. As a result, bacteria
and other detrimental organisms spread throughout the body.

* How is arthritis treated?

Treatments for arthritis include rest and relaxation, exercise,
proper diet, medication, and instruction about the proper use of
joints and ways to conserve energy. Other treatments include the
use of methods to relieve pain, and assistive devices such as
splints or braces. In severe cases, surgery may be necessary.

Ideally, the doctor and patient work together to develop a
treatment plan that helps the patient maintain or improve his
or her lifestyle. Treatment plans usually combine several types
of treatment and vary depending on the arthritic condition and
the patient.

* Can arthritis be cured?

There is no cure for arthritis but there are available
treatments that can ease pain and stiffness. The treatments
available address the symptoms. Proper treatment can really
help the patients with arthritis.

* What are the side effects of the most common arthritis
medications?

NSAID or the Non-steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs are the most
popular and the most commonly prescribed drugs for arthritis.
Several types of NSAID are on the market. The most famous are
the acetylated, COX, Selective Inhibitors.

NSAID works harshly on some of the enzymes and in blocking the
activity of the cells. In some cases the risk of developing
other health problems is increased with continuous taking of
NSAID. According to some patients, they experience dizziness,
insomnia and headache after taking these drugs.

* Can acupuncture help arthritis?

The National Arthritis, Musculoskeletal, and Skin Diseases
Information Clearinghouse says that acupuncture can help
minimize the pain of arthritis. Some researchers believe that
the needles used in acupuncture help regulate the flow of
natural painkillers.

Some hospitals in the United States offer acupuncture therapy,
and there are several cases that prove how acupuncture has
helped in surgery for rheumatic conditions.

* Can a chiropractor help arthritis?

There is evidence that chiropractic can help people suffering
from arthritis. It also allows the spinal manipulation that
helps regulate different joints as well as the spinal column. A
good chiropractor can adjust all the joints of the body,
allowing them to work normally.

There are several methods of chiropractic therapy that combine
proper nutrition with overall massage to produce better health.

* Should I exercise or NOT exercise arthritic joints?

Many arthritis sufferers think it is harmful for them to
exercise the affected area. This is a mistaken idea that has
persisted for many years.

If arthritis attacks, the patient should exercise in order to
increase blood flow to the affected area. Many researchers have
discussed how important it is to exercise during an attack of
arthritis. In fact, exercise is essential in managing your
arthritis.

[aahealth Just How Crucial Is Nutrition?

Tuesday, November 14th, 2006

Since the beginning of times, human beings have known that we
are what we eat. Our ancestors were fully aware of the simple
fact that eating well today means being stronger tomorrow.

As we all know, science has evolved since those old days, and
today we know that a good nutrition is not just what we eat,
but it’s also how much we eat and when we eat it. This means
that a good nutrition not only consists on carefully deciding
what to eat, but also know what amount of each kind of food we
may eat to fulfill our body needs without accumulating an
excess of nutrients.

For this reason, it is a good thing to get advice from a
professional nutrition expert. As an expert, he knows the right
plan to follow in order to achieve a perfect nutrition.

What we eat is so important that many specialists will require
you to have some tests prior to recommending you a specific
diet; as every person is different, it makes sense to design a
diet plan that is unique and personal for each one.

Of course, some general dieting rules are the same for almost
everybody, like for instance giving priority to the ingestion
of proteins and carbohydrates over the consumption of saturated
fats.

Common diets will include a lot more vegetables than meat, and
even if the quantity of meat is substantial, which is common in
volume diets (diets designed to help increase the volume of
certain muscles), red meat is kept to a minimum and its
substituted with other kinds of meat. Also, legumes are an
excellent choice when it comes to look for a source of
proteins, since they are powerful containers of those, and they
have a better digestibility than meat.

An effective diet must also contain the amount of vitamins
necessary to provide your body with at least the minimum amount
recommended by nutritionists. Vitamins come from green-leaved
vegetables, and also from fruit. In particular, citrics like
oranges and lemons are huge sources of vitamin C, which helps
antiaging by acting as an antioxidant agent.

Although the perfect diet is not difficult to design, it is
unpractical for the vast majority of people, as our normal
obligations (i.e. work and/or study) leave us with too little
time to follow that perfect diet, thus forcing us to skip meals
or just replacing a meal with a quick snack and a cup of coffee.
For this reason, any good diet should include a good nutrition
supplement in it. Depending on each person’s every day
activities, a variable amount of a complete food supplement can
provide those vitamins, proteins and other elements your diet
lacks.

A good diet ensures a good nutrition, and a good nutrition
equals a good health.

[aahealth 3 Keys To Building Muscle Mass

Tuesday, November 14th, 2006

Learning how to build muscle mass is the foremost thought on
the minds of millions of people who struggle with gaining
weight and increasing muscle.

If you’ve tried many times to build muscle mass and had little
or no success, there are three basic principles you need to
know. Heavy weight lifting done properly, quality nutrition,
and adequate rest are the three main elements that will give
you the best results when you begin a muscle building program.
Smart body builders and weight lifters have known these
principles for ages. By incorporating these simple concepts
into your muscle mass building program, you will greatly
increase your chances of reaching your goals.

The most effective way to build muscle mass is to increase the
intensity of your workout routine and eat the right foods in
the right amounts. There are some simple guidelines you can
follow to help you learn how to build muscle mass and help you
reach your goals.

If you are serious about learning how to build muscle mass, you
should eat a minimum of one gram of protein for each pound of
bodyweight every day. Protein builds muscle and the importance
of consuming adequate amounts on a daily basis cannot be
overstated. Your efforts will be in vain if you fail to supply
your body with the protein it needs to build muscle and gain
weight. In addition, eating 5 or 6 smaller meals each day
instead of three large ones will give your body fuel throughout
the day. Lean cuts of beef, poultry, pork, chicken, and fish are
excellent sources of protein.

Getting adequate sleep is crucial in increasing muscle mass. If
you fail to get enough rest, your body cannot afford to expend
any energy to build muscle. Your muscles will recover from
workouts more quickly and build new muscle tissue if you give
them not only the proper nutrients, but plenty of rest as well.
Eating shortly after weight training is thought to be critical
in giving your body the fuel it needs to add muscle. You should
eat and take vitamins and any supplements you may take within an
hour of finishing your workout.

If you are going to succeed in your muscle building program,
you must remember that all three basic elements must be in
place. If you leave one out you will lessen your chances of
success. In order to train effectively, you must use smart
weight lifting techniques. You must have direction and the
proper form if you are to get the maximum benefit from your
workout. Weight training done in the wrong way is not only a
waste of time; it could cause you to sustain injury to your
muscles. Muscle mass building programs are a great way to build
muscle and gain weight. Make sure your muscle building programs
contains the necessary elements and you’ll get dramatic
results.

[aahealth Don’t Get Too Fat And Happy

Tuesday, November 14th, 2006

This title today has multiple meanings, but I’m only going to
focus on two of them (actually, just mainly one of them).

The first meaning (and the one I won’t spend a lot of time on)
is the literal meaning of my title.

Basically, stop acting fat and happy just because you can throw
down a six-pack of donuts with a 72 ounce carbonated beverage.

That won’t get you anywhere.

Actually, it will get you somewhere, if you enjoy making a trip
to your local hospital.

Hey, it’s your call.

The other meaning that I will talk about in depth is the one
that stares far too many people in the face on a daily basis.

What is it?

Let me explain…

Someone decides to make a change, eat better, exercise (the
right way), focuses on positive thinking phrases to say to
oneself.

They’re doing great.

They feel great.

They look great.

Then………………….

They allow themselves a “cheat” day.

“On this day, Chris”, they say to me…

“I can eat and do whatever I want”

What do you think that entails, guys and gals?

Any guesses?
Maybe…………splurging on food and drink.

Multiple times over.

You have to enjoy your cheat day, right?

Wrong.

This is what I’m talking about here.

Don’t get too excited that you allow yourself to binge on food
and drink.

Now, am I saying you have to eat broccoli and drink water all
day, every day?

Of course not.

You have to find balance (leaning toward the side of
healthiness, of course).

Stay with me here.

You need to find the balance between being proud of yourself,
and not being TOO proud of yourself.

Are you with me here?

Good.

Remember, as I’ve said many times before, you will be the one
who ultimately is responsible for your fitness level.

Not Mom.

Not Dad.

Or sister, brother, spouse, friend, or even your great great
uncle.

You get the picture.

Should you be happy you are making progress.

Of course! Not only that, you should be ecstatic!

Making progress is something most people don’t even try to do.

They are quitters.

You, my friend, are not a quitter.

On the other hand, don’t get soooo fired up, that you decide
you can “let it all hang out”, and go crazy on the buffet
table.

There is absolutely no need for that.

Remember, this is a lifestyle change.

Not a 1 week or 1 month change.

You want this change forever.

You want constant improvement.

You need constant improvement.

This will push you to greater heights, I promise.

It’s about that time……..so, until next time, be proud of your
progress, but never, ever stop striving for your goals. Just
because you’re part of the way there, doesn’t mean it’s time to
throw in the towel……on the contrary, that’s when the real
successful people step up and take it one notch further.

Take it one notch further, right now.

I’ll talk to you soon.

[aahealth Natural Ways To Slow Down Aging

Tuesday, November 14th, 2006

Wrinkles. Aged skin. Grey hair. We all cringe at the thought of
getting older, even though we know that it is inevitable. If
only we had the opportunity to slow down time, and perhaps look
better in the process. Fortunately, studies have proven that
there are natural ways to gain just a few more years of youth.
We no longer have to spend thousands of dollars on risky
plastic surgery that may make us look even more aged.

One of the most popular ways to slow down aging is to eat a
healthy diet. Though this may sound like common sense, many
people do not realize how much of an impact it can have on your
skin. By eating an abundance of fruits and vegetables which are
high in nutrients and consuming a large amount of water a day,
chances are you will look rejuvenated. Looking to decrease your
age even more? Exercise will also play a significant role in how
you feel. It not only makes you have more energy, but it
additionally keeps you toned and young.

While we love to tan and sunbathe, this can also be a large
factor that determines our appearance. It is absolutely crucial
that you not only limit your sun intake, but that you also
protect yourself. For instance, if you go to the beach, make
sure you have sun screen with an SPF of 15 of more at all
times. If you do not, your skin will start to develop sun
spots, as well as wrinkles and perhaps cancer. Is it really
worth acquiring so many flaws, just to look perfect? For most
people, it just is too dangerous.

Other possible natural ways to slow down aging is to consume
natural supplements. Noni Juice, a 100% fruit product that is
derived from the Pacific Islands, actually keeps your skin
looking fresh. Surprisingly, it also helps with joint pain,
cellular growth, and energy. With such a selection of benefits,
it is clear why thousands of people are picking Noni Juice to
help with aging. After all, why not try something that is risk
free and natural? The opportunities are endless.

Stress also plays a huge role in how we look and feel. For this
reason, getting at least seven hours of sleep a day is vital to
your health. Still not seeing the results? If you have a fast
paced life, it is important that you try your best to schedule
some stress relieving time. For instance, taking a walk during
your free time or having a hobby is a great way to reduce the
tension. This alone will naturally relieve any stress within
your body and face. In return, you will feel replenished and
rejuvenated!

Regardless of how beautiful and perfect we look, chances are we
are dying to look more youthful. The beauty about natural
techniques to slow down aging is that they are safe and easy.
Plastic surgery is not only dangerous, but it also is extremely
pricey. As a result, we end up with holes in our wallets and are
probably unhappy with the results. Fortunately, Noni Juice,
sleep and exercise are three methods that may actually stop the
hands on your clock. It’s certainly time to stop the ticking.
